Our mission is to empower volunteers to serve their communities, meet humanitarian needs, encourage peace and promote international understanding through Lions clubs.
Since 1953, the DeWitt Noon Lions Club has been a vital part of the DeWitt Community, marshalling volunteers to assist with many civic projects, supporting youth activities, promoting sight-saving programs and contributing positively to the quality of life while also supporting the work of Lions Clubs International and the Iowa Lions Foundation.
With over 90 + Members, we are committed to the Lion's motto, "We Serve."
To carry out this mission, we participate in several fund-raising activities and contribute financially to worth while causes. We further this mission by individual and group volunteer service.
One of our best fund-raising activity is the Travelogue Series which has been ongoing for 49 years.
As Lions we are best known for our efforts to end preventable blindness. We also conduct vision screenings for children, provide eye exams, eyeglasses and hearing aids, as well, for those in need. In addition we have contributed to diabetes research and have sent children to diabetes camp.
Ready to SERVE?
Be a Lion.
Message from the President
Welcome and thank you for taking the time to view our website. We hope that whether you are an existing member or someone considering membership in our DeWitt Noon Lions Club, you will consider the benefits of our organization for yourself and our community.
We meet each Thursday at Noon at the UCC church with a delicious prepared lunch and then have an interesting presentations covering many different interests. Our club is a close knit group that has accomplished many great things in our area from our beautiful butterfly garden, scholarships, shop with a cop to support for many other great things happening in our community.
Join our local group of service-minded men and women who volunteer to support our community every day. You’ll also become a member of Lions Clubs International – a respected international organization, a leader in our community, and a friend to people in need.
Diabetes, Environment, Hunger Relief, Pediatric Cancer and Vision are the initiatives we continue to support, both locally and internationally. Join us as “We Serve” to make great strides helping in each of these impactful areas.
As we look to the future of our club with great pride we know that together we accomplish more and that’s exactly why I joined the DeWitt Noon Lions. My very favorite saying is, “Where there’s a need, there’s a Lion”! Please Join Us!
Our aim is to serve the DeWitt community and support the efforts of Lions Clubs International.
We welcome your comments regarding what we do and how we can improve our activities. If you would like to see us closer in action, please attend one of our weekly meetings as our guest. Lunch is served at 11:45 a.m. each Thursday at the First Congregational fellowship hall on the east edge of DeWitt, across from Central DeWitt High School. Please contact us if you would like additional information or if you are interested in joining us. We’d like to get to know you!
